With the widespread penetration and adoption of the voice, video telephony and messaging over Internet, there is a need for reliable and standards based solutions to help the users to seamlessly use these applications behind enterprise and residential NATs. Interactive Connectivity Establishment (ICE) is one of the standards that has emerged out of the IETF that proposes to solve one of the most critical challenges in IP-communications: NAT Traversal.
